First, Idris sounds like the coolest place ever. IT LITERALLY HAS A CITY OF GLASS. But the whole ward thing seems insecure if ONE corrupted teenage boy can take them down in like five minutes. Apparently the Clave just didn’t feel like actually guarding them well.
The new Inquisitor is slightly deranged. What guy tricks a vampire, and then proceeds to starve it???? And then he tries to grab Valentine. A PROJECTION HOLOGRAM THING. Yet, Valentine kills him somehow. WHY WOULD YOU EVEN TRY TO DO THAT EITHER WAY REAL OR NOT. It’s not the best idea, Aldertree.
SEBASTIAN. That child is messed up. Demon blood and tons of training doesn’t create a likeable kid. EVEN THE SECOND TIME READING THIS BOOK I WAS SO MAD THAT HE KILLED MAX. WHY!!! HE WAS A FREAKING NINE YEAR OLD THERE WAS NO POINT. He could’ve given him a silence rune or something like Valentine did to Clary. HE DID NOT HAVE TO MURDER AN INNOCENT KID THAT IS UNFORGIVABLE AND DREADFUL AND THERE ARE NO WORDS TO EXPRESS HOW WRONG AND EVIL IT IS. Seriously, this Sebastian is a psychopath. No emotion.
How could Valentine possibly think that Raziel would destroy all of the Shadowhunters, especially after all of the terrible things that he has already done? When they say that you can ask for one favor they don’t mean that you can ask to destroy the protectors of the human world.
OMG TESSA WAS IN THIS BOOK! ITS THE GIRL IN THE WHITE DRESS THAT MAGNUS WAS TALKING TO WOW! (btw I’m reading Clockwork Prince right now). AND THE ADORABLE MALEC MOMENT AT THE END WAS SO GREAT. The ship has sailed.
This book is SO 5/5 stars. It was action-packed and awesome.
Thanks for reading this book review! What are your feelings about Sebastian/Jonathan/ whatever you want to call him?
