CLOCKWORK PRINCE FEELS (AKA A BOOK REVIEW)

img_1644-2THIS REVIEW WILL BE MOSTLY IN CAPS SINCE I’M HAVING MANY OF THE FEELS RIGHT NOW. In the magical underworld of Victorian London, Tessa Gray has at last found safety with the Shadowhunters. But that safety proves fleeting when rogue forces in the Clave plot to see her protector, Charlotte, replaced as head of the Institute. If Charlotte loses her position, Tessa will be out on the street—and easy prey for the mysterious Magister, who wants to use Tessa’s powers for his own dark ends.

With the help of the handsome, self-destructive Will and the fiercely devoted Jem, Tessa discovers that the Magister’s war on the Shadowhunters is deeply personal. He blames them for a long-ago tragedy that shattered his life. To unravel the secrets of the past, the trio journeys from mist-shrouded Yorkshire to a manor house that holds untold horrors, from the slums of London to an enchanted ballroom where Tessa discovers that the truth of her parentage is more sinister than she had imagined. When they encounter a clockwork demon bearing a warning for Will, they realize that the Magister himself knows their every move—and that one of their own has betrayed them.

Tessa finds her heart drawn more and more to Jem, but her longing for Will, despite his dark moods, continues to unsettle her. But something is changing in Will—the wall he has built around himself is crumbling. Could finding the Magister free Will from his secrets and give Tessa the answers about who she is and what she was born to do?

As their dangerous search for the Magister and the truth leads the friends into peril, Tessa learns that when love and lies are mixed, they can corrupt even the purest heart.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN, ENGAGED?!?!?!?!??!? JEM. YOU. DID. NOT. TRY. TO. SINK. MY. SHIP.  JAMES CARSTAIRS I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR THIS. TESSAAAAAAAAA WHY DID SHE SAY YES AFTER TWO SECONDS OF THINKING ABOUT IT!?!?!?!? WILLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!

HE WAS THEIR FRIEND. WHY JEM. THE JADE NECKLACE. THIS JADE NECKLACE IS TRYING TO KEEP WILL FROM HAPPINESS AND LOVE.

THE CURSE WASN’T REAL. i mean, it’s pretty obvious since Tessa doesn’t just die on sight whenever she sees Will. ELLA DIED BECAUSE OF THE BARBED TAIL. THAT DEMON HAS MADE WILL KEEP HIMSELF FROM BEING ABLE TO BE LOVED. EVILNESSNESSNESS.

WESSA IS ENDGAME. NOT JESSA. I BELIEVE THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN WITH ALL OF MY HEART. IF WILL DIES IN CLOCKWORK PRINCESS I JUST DONT KNOW. IT’S TOO TERRIBLE TO IMAGINE.

WILLIAM HERONDALE BETTER LIVE A LONG AND AMAZING LIFE OR I AM GOING TO BE VERY IRRITATED. WE ALL KNOW THAT TESSA LIVES AT LEAST. a small light in the darkness that is the fear that someone really important and heroic (AKA WILL HERONDALE) will die.

Nathaniel. WHAT IS HIS DEALIO? HE LITERALLY DIED RIGHT BEFORE HE COULD GIVE GOOD INFORMATION THAT COULD’VE HELPED TESSA AND jem AND WILL. NATHANIEL KILLED HIS OWN MOTHER! AUNT HARRIET WAS HIS MOTHER AND SO WHO WERE TESSA’S PARENTS? THERE IS SUPPOSEDLY A FAMILY TREE ON THE CLOCKWORK PRINCESS DUST JACKET AND I WILL NOT LOOK AT IT IF MY COPY HAS IT UNTIL I’VE READ IT.

i must quickly mention that Will was right about demon pox! William Herondale: 5 million. Logic, Common Sense, and Reality: 0. BUT OH MY GOODNESS I MUST KNOW WHAT HAPPENS SOON. I HAVE TO FINISH CITY OF LOST SOULS AND READ CLOCKWORK PRINCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for reading this review! What were your thoughts on Jem’s proposal to Tessa? Were you as annoyed and mad as I was? Is Wessa your ship? (I know you guys have likely read Clockwork Princess, so please do not spoil it for me!)
