Here’s the book review for the final book in the Lorien Legacies! Warning: Spoilers for the entire series are included beyond this point.
They hunted us for our legacies. They are coming for you now too. They know you have powers. They fear how strong we can become—together. We must prove them right. We can save this planet if we fight as one. We need your help.
They started this war. We will end it.
It has all come down to this. One final chance to defeat the Mogadorians. We will save this planet—or we will die trying. But it’s going to take all of us…including you.
If we’re going to win this war, we need to eliminate their leader first. And now I have the power to do so. To get to him, though, we’re going to need an army of our own.
We know you didn’t ask for any of this. Neither did we. Lorien chose you, as it did us. It gave you Legacies so you could help defend the world. We can train you to use your new abilities. We can show you how to fight. But it’s your decision if you want to join us. You will have to put your life on the line, and not everyone may survive. Not all of us have.
They killed Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
Number Three in Kenya.
Number Eight in Florida.
…And Sarah Hart in Mexico.
They’ve taken my home, my family, my friends, and now the person I love more than anything.
I am John Smith. I am Number Four. I have nothing left to lose—and that is their biggest mistake.
Okay, this is the last book in the Lorien Legacies series. They’re good for a quick read, as the text size is quite big and it is in no way dense. This final book shows the end of the war against the Mogadorians after they have invaded Earth and are attempting to wipe out the Garde and the rest of humans, basically. If you haven’t read it yet, READ IT!
SHRIEKING BECAUSE WOW THAT DESCRIPTION DiD nOT sOFteN tHE bLOw oF SARAH’S DEATH. Just oh yeah these characters have been dead forever but let’s break your heart, which has been recovering from the initial shock a year ago, AGAIN. Okay, coming from the girl who doesn’t cry during books, this description made the icy wall around my heart melt a bit and hurt it quite a LOT… THANKS AUTHOR.
I completely forgot that these books were a total adrenaline rush. Like one moment it seems hopeless, that the battle is lost. THEN OUT OF NOWHERE FIVE IS JUST LIKE SuRPrIse. Yes, I’m referring to that one scene when John has that Mog’s tentacles in his back and ew could you imagine TENTACLES IN YOUR BACK!?!?! I’m there literally shrieking at Five “WOOOOOOOO GO GOGOOGOGOGOGGOGOGOGOSFDAKJSDFALKDSFALKSJKLAALKSLKSADJKSDJLAKJLASFJKLAFS” Actually. I was actually that excited.
But honestly these “human Garde” are really frustrating. Except Ran, who seems to be the only one who is actually capable of being helpful. Nigel irritated me so much, since he seemed to only be useful for talking about nonsense, getting hurt, and posting videos of his exact location on the Interwebs. Thanks…I’m now going to talk about this ending. So apparently it’s the smartest of choices to directly approach the all-powerful evil leader. NO. Well, it did end up working, and I guess desperate times call for desperate measures.
“‘I’m not Pittacus Lore,’ I say through gritted teeth. ‘I am Number Four. I’m the one who kills you.'”
It turns out I really like these exceptionally cliche lines, I do not know why… But I’ve been shipping Four and Six and she KiSSeD HiM it’s not canon but it’s a hope. Setrakus Ra is dead (NO ONE MOURNS THE WICKED) so good riddance to this plague that is evil-type Mogs.
