This or That Tag!

this.or.that.jpgHappy Saturday! Or weirdly late on Saturday. I was tagged by the brilliant Of Books and Bailey to do This Tag! Thanks Bailey! I’ll just be answering a bunch of this or that questions and some other random questions! Hope you guys enjoy this!

Hardback, trade paperback or mass market paperback?

HARDBACK. I glare upon mass market paperback, THEY ARE SO TINY. THE TEXT IS LITTLE AND UGH HARDCOVERS ARE JUST GORGEOUS.

Barnes & Noble or Borders?

Barnes & Noble. I’ve never even gone to a Borders! I think it used to be our Barnes and Noble!

Bookmark or dog-ear?

Bookmark. Dog-ears make me cringe so hard. But as Christine Riccio says, IT WILL LIVE.  But she is the one who also said, “MUNDANE FOOLS IT’S NOT JUST A BOOK.”

Amazon or brick-and-mortar?

AMAZON. I have no idea what brick-and-mortar is, but I sure do like Amazon. THAT’S THE WEBSITE WITH ALL THE THINGS THAT SHIP SO FAST!!!

Alphabetize by author, or alphabetize by title, or random?

I have two bookshelves. One is MY RAINBOW SHELF and the other one is by author and series.

Keep, throw away, or sell?

Keep! I would never throw away my books, just maybe donate them or something!

Keep dust jacket or toss it?

Oh my god why would I toss it?? IT’S A PIECE OF ART.

Read with dust jacket or remove it?

Depends on the floppiness levels.

Short story or novel?

NOVEL. SHORT STORIES TEND TO LACK DEVELOPMENT I LOVE TO SEE IN NOVELS.

Harry Potter or Lemony Snicket?

Harry Potter forever.

Stop reading when tired or at chapter breaks?

Chapter breaks. NEVER TAKE A BREAK IN THE MIDDLE OF A CHAPTER, IT RUINS THE CHAPTER!

“It was a dark and stormy night” or “Once upon a time”?

Once upon a time, because EVEN IN THE FUTURE A STORY CAN START WITH IT. Yes, that was me trying to do a Cinder reference.

Buy or borrow?

Buy! I like to own MY PRECIOUS BOOKS.

Buying choice: book reviews, recommendations, or browse?

Book reviews and recommendations! I don’t usually just pick up a book without some sort of research on the interwebs!

Tidy ending or cliffhanger?

Depends on the story.

Morning reading, afternoon reading, or nighttime reading?

Afternoon reading outside!

Stand-alone or series?

SERIES. THEY ARE ALWAYS MUCH MORE SPECTACULAR.

Favorite series?

Harry Potter and The Infernal Devices.

Favorite children’s book?

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Favorite YA book?

Clockwork Princess.

Favorite book of which nobody else has heard?

Far Far Away.

Favorite books read last year?

The Martian and Winter.

Favorite books of all time?

Just look 3-4 questions above!

What are you reading right now?

Attachments by Rainbow Rowell.

What are you reading next?

Scarlet Epstein Hates it Here.

Favorite book to recommend to an 11-year-old?

Depends on the 11-year-old.

Favorite book to re-read?

Harry Potter.

Do you ever smell books?

IT ISN’T WEIRD.

Do you ever read primary source documents like letters or diaries?

No.

Thanks for reading! Remember my Goodreads is thebookllama_hannah and my Instagram is@thebookllama! Oh my god, I finally got my clockwork angel necklace in the mail today, and I LOVE IT SO MUCH.

  2. Some good answers! 🙂

By the way, “brick and mortar” means regular, physical building stores…to make it clear instead of Amazon, etc. in this age of internet shopping. (And someone else may have said that by now.) 🙂

      1. It’s a fairly recent term (the last 5 or so years?)… And it’s become so common now that people aren’t really explaining it anymore. (If you weren’t aware of what it meant when it first came out, apparently you missed out… I don’t like the way some people do that.)
